“Ici, c’est autre chose que loin, c’est ailleurs.”
“Here is something special. It is not away, it is elsewhere!”
This quote from Jean Giono, a native from the Alpes de Haute Provence, summarizes the exceptional character of this area. Nestled in between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, this territory encompasses singular discoveries and breath-taking panoramas.
It is said that all roads lead to Rome. But only one goes through Bayons : the GR6 !
The GR6 offers uncommon hiking tracks with beautiful sceneries. Bayons stands on the path to Saint Jacques de Compostele, on the Arles – Rome section.
The Alpes de Haute Provence offer 310 sunny days per year !!!
Bayons is an entirely preserved village, located 900m above sea level, at the heart of the Alpes de Haute Provence, in the Massif des Monges. This location makes it the ideal starting point for hikes (GR6), fasting, relaxation and silence.
Through encounters and discoveries, you might come across different values and ways of living than those imposed by society.
Silence, clean air, Bayons light – you will have a chance to recharge your batteries!
The Massif des Monges
A secret place, in between the Alpes and Provence, that provides endless stretches, vast horizons, soft crests suspended in an deep blue sky.
So far from everything, and yet so close to the essential !
